Meet and Greet!

Postby Randi's Mom - Rhonda on Fri Sep 23, 2005 11:20 am

I think we need to get to know all the new parents.

So we each need to take turns identifing ourselves.

I am Rhonda, Randi's mom, (duh!)

Steve is my husband (although you won't see him alot, till the power tools come out!) We have Randi, who will be 14 in Oct. and Ryan, who is 24 and in the Marine Corp. He is stationed at Camp Pendleton right now and we are praying for "no more deployments" (feel free to join in on that one!) We did Fallujah and don't want to do that again "EVER"!!

We have horses and Steve is a football referee. We both work for different law firms that deal with the financing of Aircraft.

Oh and I can sew but shhhhh don't tell Marissa!!! hehehe

Enough of me.............next!

Hi. My name's Marissa.

I'm kind of a pretend parent to all of your children. :-)

Acting lessons, singing lessons and directing musicals is my real job. My hobby is working for Child Welfare. I worked in Oklahoma County for two years and in December will have been with Cleveland County for two years.

I used to be married but am now divorced and have gone from the complicated married name of Winkelman back to the simple maiden name of Pace....thank goodness!!!

Children in the Guild who I'm related to by blood are Krislyn, Kevin and Lenora. Krislyn is my niece and Kevin is my nephew. They are both the children of my older sister, Karlene. Lenora is my niece. She is the daughter of my younger sister, Regina.

I have a BA in Theatre with an emphasis on Acting and Directing from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. My minor is in Music. See??? I am qualified to teach your children!

Nothing much more to say now. Although, too bad Rhonda...I already know you sew. Just as I know what kind of talents most of OCAG parent's have.

Talk toya'll lata. 8-)
Marissa 8-)

The natural condition of the theatre business is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster. However, as strange and unbelievable as it sounds, it always turns out well. No one knows why this is. It’s a mystery.

I like this! :greenstar: The things you learn! Rhonda, I always assumed Randi was an only child. And how long have we known each other?

I'm Regina; I'm Marissa's sister and I help with the group, and I'm the mom of Lenora, 5, and Bennett, 2.

I the editor of the Tuttle Times, and I get to work from home most of the time. I also do the website for OCAG and do a lot of other little things, like take care of getting videos and photos made for shows, make programs, tickets, and posters, act as a liasion with metro media groups, and sort of act as Marissa's right hand girl.

That's about it.

Edit - Wait! I just read Marissa's and I'll add that my degree is in mass communications with a minor in theatre. So I guess I'm minorly qualified to teach your child. Ha! I kill myself.

Edit 2 - I forgot to say that I'm married to Ben, who does a lot of set junk, even when Marissa and I are tense and mean during hell week. How scatterbrained am to forget to mention Ben? It was only seeing Michael mention his Ben that reminded me!

Gosh, Why do we have to do this. It's like an awkward first date or something..
Michael Welch is my name, married for 12 yrs and father of the actor Zachary as well as his two siblings Luke and Ben. Sarah is my spousal unit and is a special education teacher for the Tuttle Intermediate School. I am (get this) Information Systems Operation Specialist for the Teachers' Retirement System of Oklahoma. Been here 20 yrs on 10/15/05. I umpire the game of softball, be it fast pitch or slow pitch from t-ball to 18 & under, jr high to high school. I've done that for 12 yrs. The problem with it is that I'm missing a lot of my kid's activities and growing up. Yet they still love me... What a family! Yes, we got started late. Ben is only 7 and I'm 50. I could be his grandpa.  Sarah though, is somewhat younger than me although she won't allow me to reveal how much except to say that I have to work 10 more years so we'll be able to retire together... I went to college for awhile, then, well I'll save that story for another post...

Introducing Myself

Postby chrismom on Sun Sep 25, 2005 2:51 pm

I'm Lori, homeschooling mom to 7-year-old Chris, who thinks he is smarter than I am. My husband is Jim, a retired army first sergeant and currently a supervisor in a child support enforcement. I also have a 25-year-old daughter from a previous marriage who is living in Dallas and I am stepmom to Darren, a very smart 30-year-old computer geek who is living with us temporarily. In another life (before Chris) I worked for the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council. I find my current "job" more challenging and I really enjoy it. I think I am learning more now than I did in college.

Chris did not fit in at school and needed a place to be with other bright kids like him. The OCAG kids are his true friends. He feels very lucky to be a part of this group. He is frequently asked what sport he plays and he proudly tells people that he is an actor, not a sports kid.
Strive to be the best you can be. Don't settle for mediocrity.

About me...

Postby carlysmomerin on Thu Sep 29, 2005 12:00 am

Hi. I am Erin. I am mother to Carly (8), Joseph (4), Olivia (2), and Isaac (1). We live in Yukon; however it is Mustang school district. Carly is the only one in school so far. She is in the 2nd grade at Mustang Creek. I (very-happily) work full-time for Neuroscience specialists (brain and back surgeons at Mercy) I work directly with the very best surgeon, Dr Michael Hahn, and I am going to school full-time at OKCCC so I can eventually be his surgery nurse.
I am also an assistant teacher for the Little Angels dance class on Tuesday nights at the Dancenter in Oklahoma City. Both of my girls are in competitive dance, so it gives me something to do, instead of just sitting around waiting. I work out about twice a week.
I am a single mother, so I stay very busy trying to juggle everything. Every once in a while a ball drops, so please be patient with me. And I may need a little email every once in a while to remind me of things. It’s hard to keep up with it all sometimes. Carly is having a ball and Olivia can not wait until she is four to get up there on the stage with her.
I look forward to all the fun. Thanks for taking us in. :-D

new parent

Postby Kristy11 on Thu Sep 29, 2005 6:48 am

HI there! I'm Kristy(37). I spend most of my time doing stuff for my kids school. Im on the PTO board, and a majority of my time goes to that. My hubby is David, who Ive been with for 21 years, married 15. He works at Quad Graphics in OK City, and Im a stay at home mom now for 13 years. We reside in Bridge Creek. Kyle is 12 (6th grade)and loves the arts. Music, dance, acting. He use to be with agencies fulltime as a child. He use to work about 3 times a week, but it got too hectic. He spends free time playing the drums, and video games. Kody is 10 (5th grade) and is my jock and daredevil. His main sport is soccer. We all made a life changing move here 2 years ago from WIsconsin. Hard to do considering noone lives here. It's been a real culture shock! The size of your bugs is enough to send a normal person into shock! We are about ready for your heat to be coming to an end! As in the winter when you all have your heat on, we have our windows open in the dead of winter. We've enjoyed this group loads! :D

Trey's dad has been sick this year with a heart disease. I would like everyone to pray for us because our family has been called back from ABC Extreme Home Makeover to build us a new house. We are just praying that it happens. So if and when it ever happens the party is at our house 8-) ........

Hey!

Postby Karlene on Thu Sep 29, 2005 5:47 pm

Hi everyone! I'm Karlene. I am Marissa and Regina's older sister.
Krislyn and Kevin are mine. Krislyn is a senior and Kevin is a sophomore.
James is my husband. He was almost killed in Dec. '03 when a man driving under the influence of drugs hit him head on. He is in a wheelchair and we are waiting for a hip replacement for his right hip. Hopefully, he will be able to walk again. We have been married for 21 years and have a 10 year old named Gary.
Gary has performed with OCAG, but he likes baseball and sports, in general, much more. He will, however, if Marissa needs another boy, perform at the drop of a hat.
I teach reading at Tuttle. I've taught at Tuttle since '88. I graduated from USAO in Chickasha with a BS in Elementary Ed. I graduated from UCO with a Master's in Reading.
I usually am a big helper with OCAG productions. But the last couple of years I've been helping with running the curtain, trying my best to do some of the lighting...all of those switches confuse me..., helping make the sets and changing sets during performances.
If someone could tell me how, I'd like to have a picture or something over on the left side where the profile info is. A computer is kinda like a car....

Karlene, Go to your profile and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Regina has uploaded a ton of avatars to attach to your name to the left of your posts. You can either browse from the provided avatars or download one of your own. It's easy...
