Auditions

I saw something in the paper the other day about some auditions in Norman for a children's production. I can't remember what the production was but they wanted you to do like 32 bars of vocal music or something like that. I think the audition was last weekend but I'm not sure.

Ok if you are going to be an understudy, you should at least post info in a timely fashion......and with detail!!!!

Wanted: entertainers

The second annual Grape and Wine Festival Sept. 24 in Slaughterville will feature a talent search as part of the festivities.

Auditions for the contest will take place 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Town Hall of Slaughterville.

The contest is open to all ages and musical talent. Fifteen contestants will be chosen at the auditions to perform in the contest at the festival.

Sooner Theatre alive with 'Sound of Music'

The Sooner Theatre will present "The Sound of Music" Sept. 9 through 17. Based on Howard Lindsay's and Russell Crouse's book, the musical features music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Directed by Lisa Fox Adams, "The Sound of Music" includes such tunes as "Do Re Mi," "My Favorite Things," "The Sound of Music" and "Climb Every Mountain." "The Sound of Music" is the winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score.

In addition, Patti Drennan will direct a nun choir made up of volunteer singers from Norman and a 15-member children's chorus will join the cast.

"The Sound of Music" runs 8 p.m. Sept. 9 through 17 and 2 p.m. Sept. 11. Tickets are $15 and $18 and on sale now. Visit Sooner Theatre, 101 E. Main St., call 321-9600 or visit http://www.soonertheatre.com to reserve seats.

Auditions The Jewel Box Theatre, 3700 N Walker, will hold auditions from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for its upcoming productions of "Scrooge!" and "Wait Until Dark."

Based on the hit screen musical, "Scrooge!" calls for a cast of 11 men and six women ages 20 to 60, three girls and three boys ages 7 to 14, and one boy who looks 4 to 6. Production dates are Nov. 17 through Dec. 11.

Frederick Knott's thriller "Wait Until Dark" calls for a cast of four men ages 20 to 50, one woman age 20 to 35, and one girl age 8 to 12. Production dates are Jan. 19 through Feb. 12.

Seriously...I wish I lived in slaughterville. I bet they have a lot of funny sayings that they tell people from outa town...anyways 8)

Sorry but I cannot produce any copyright documents. and No I'm not a weirdly!!! And no, Ive never heard that comment. It must be a Krislynism...
