Kevin's Camping Trip

Postby mickster on Thu Jun 08, 2006 3:05 pm

Two weeks ago, the cub scouts had a camping trip to the boonies in south/central OK near Coalgate. Since Gary's dad couldn't make the trip, his Mother asked if I could transport him to the campout. It wasn't a problem until "big Brother, Kevin" decided that HE wanted to go on the trip. No I don't have enough room, but Mr Dewitt managed to bring both of the Gottman boys to the campout.
It wasn't until the Dewitt/Gottman group arrived that I learned the real reason for Kevin's attendence to the campout. It seems that Kevin's desire to attend the Gottman Family Reunion was less than enthusiastic. In fact, it was said that he'd rather be anywhere than at the reunion... Well, to make a long story a little shorter, some of the scouts and parents went on a 6 hr hike and an overnight "survival" campout. Many of the survivalists came back infected with poison ivy and covered with ticks... I guess both the boys survived the elements for a night and should possibly be commended. But to think that Kevin would just shirk off the family reunion with all the good homemade food and family fellowship to instead suffer through a rough campout, eating out of a can, and all the other unsanitary things that one must endure on a survival campout is beyond all comprehension...

Did you have a good time, Kevin???

Kevin, you were on the boards on Krislyn's birthday and couldn't spare a moment to go over to Holiday Haven and wish her a happy one? Nice.

anywho...the food at the reunions isn't that great...and I totally remember that day...because I had to go to the reunion by myself...which meant no one to say things like "wow this sucks" and "I wish I could die"....it was a sad time...
