Past and future OCAG revues!

October?

Postby Regina on Wed Jan 25, 2006 9:18 pm

This forum has not been posted in since October.

It was kind of bumming me out.

Question for possible group discussion:

1. If OCAG did a musical revue next, what song would you want to sing as a solo and why?
2. What song would you want to sing as a small group (duet, trio, quartet, quintet) and who would you want to sing it with? Why?
3. What five songs would you most want the entire group to sing?

OR...

4. If OCAG did a full-length musical next, what musical would you choose? Who would you cast in what parts?

Discuss!

but i thought what would be kinda cool for musical revue
is if we did a show called LULLABY OF BROADWAY 2
and we could we feature alot of solos and duets and group songs from alot of musicals and we can audition for each character part for each of the musicals but thats my opinion for a revue

1. If OCAG did a musical revue next, what song would you want to sing as a solo and why?
Not that I get to sing, but I think I would like to sing "Own My Own" from Les Miserables. Of course, it would take a lot of work (Marissa, do you take adult private students?)
2. What song would you want to sing as a small group (duet, trio, quartet, quintet) and who would you want to sing it with? Why?
I think I'll pick "I Know Him So Well" from Chess and pick Marissa to sing it with me. That song is really something else. I wanted to pick "Nobody's Side" from the same musical but I cannot decide what guy I would choose since...well, let's just stop there, shall we? Of course, I could pick "The Book Report" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, but then both Marissa and Krislyn would claw my eyes out because I would want to be Lucy, and I'm not up for that kind of confrontation today. I'd also like to see someone in the group sing "Try to Remember" or "Soon it's Gonna Rain" from The Fantastiks.
3. What five songs would you most want the entire group to sing?
This question is hard. What idiot dreamed these up? Uh, I like "We Go Together" from Grease, "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin, "Ease on Down the Road" from The Wiz, "Aquarius" from Hair, "America" from West Side Story.
4. If OCAG did a full-length musical next, what musical would you choose? Who would you cast in what parts?
Maybe Gypsy. Could we do a show about a stripper? Maybe. Who would I cast? I don't know. I don't know that I really want us to do Gypsy, just all of the music from it! Grease would be great, too, if we could clean it up a bit. Or maybe we should go crazy and do Seussical. Might be fun!

I think Marissa told me that Little Shop of Horrors only has one set.

Sounds GREAT to me!

But are there really enough parts for everyone? I thought that sort of had a minimal cast...
