Lyrics for the Charity Show - Sound of Music

Postby Marissa on Mon Sep 19, 2005 8:14 pm

Hi all.

First of all, I’m not including Do-Re-Mi because everyone who is doing Do-Re-Mi already knows the song and it’s too complicated to type out.

My Favorite Things is not complicated to type out but I’m getting really tired of typing. Plus, everyone who is doing My Favorite Things also knows it already.

So Long, Farewell:

(By the way, I know that this was already divided out and so you all know what parts you're singing. So, I’m just typing the song out and not putting who is doing what. If you forget, I’ll remind you at our next rehearsal.)

All: There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall and the bells in the steeple too. And up in the nursery an absurd little bird is popping out to say coo-coo. coo-coo (etc.)
Regretfully they tell us but firmly they compel us to say good bye.
Coo-coo.
To you.

All:
So long farewell, auf weidersehen goodnight.
Solo: I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.

All: So long farewell, auf weidersehen adieu.
Solo: Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you.

All: So long farewell, au revior auf weidersehen.
Solo: I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne…yes?
All: No!

All: So long farewell, auf weidersehen good bye.
Solo: I leave and heave a sigh and say good bye. Goodbye!!!

Solo: I'm glad... to go.... I cannot tell a lie.
Solo: I flit, I float, I fleetly flee I fly.

Duet: The sun... has gone... to bed and so must I...

All: So long...farewell...auf weidersehen goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye.

Actually, on that particular song, Marissa was a talented cutter and paster. However she did put in spaces and the like so that it wasn't all in one big paragraph. She also put all the "Solo and Duet and All" in there. She also put the bolds, italics and underlines all by herself.

Marissa has been eyeing the rest of the lyrics to Hello, Dolly! Marissa is going to wait a while to type those on the board.

Ta ta!
