ok here I go.....

1. Musicals have a plot that doesn't make you wanna fall asleep and it's easier to follow....

2. It requires talent to be in a musical....

3. It's a lot more fun because you actually get to do stuff and play around with characters and what not because if you change a character a little bit it won't make the whole show fall apart....if you try to change a character in a regular play then it usually turns out bad....

4. More people will come to see a musical because they want to be entertained, not bored out of their mind....

5. The audience doesn't want to have to listen to understand what's going on, they just like to be entertained....you have to make everything extremely clear in a play because there's nothing to help the plot along but droning words....

Oh I put down 5 reasons......excellent.

Musical lovers......feel free to add on to these reasons...

nope sorry im still not convinced i still like straight plays better

1. you have something "Ketchy" from a song from a musical, you can sing along. ......can you do that with your STUPID plays

2. the songs move along the plot, so instead of listining to all the words you just listin to the song

3. you can more develope you character in how they act during the song ,

4. you just dont talk an dstrut across the stage, you have to sing AND dance.

5. you can buy the soundtrack so you know all the songs so you can sing along to then , and youll alwase have something to rember it ,can you do that with a play??????

okay those are all good points you all had but heres my opinions on straight plays and there is only four


1. plays show what happens more in the real word like say you were in a play or musical and in that show you were being mugged by a guy with a gun what would you do if that was you in real life would you try to get away from the guy
or just akwardly start dancing and singing about getting mugged i would try to get away as fast as i can or fight back because that wouldnt really be a good time to start singing

2. It doesnt matter if you are in a play or musical you always have to develop your character the best you can

3. Randi when i go see a play or musical i go to be entertained i dont sing along with the actors cause theyre the ones on stage not me

4. ill give you and krislyn this though there are some musical plays that are better than straight plays no doubt and there are some musicals i would like to be in but i just like straight plays better


but anyway those are my reasons lets just stop this i know i started it but i dont want to start an argument

Have you ever seen Rent??? A guy in that gets mugged and he totally runs and fights and doesn't burst out into a dance....but he is doing it to a song....so I guess you're wrong about that....just my opinion, but ive been wrong before.....

Oh and I thought that you weren't in OCAG anymore.....

haha musicals are WAY better than plays(in my opinion)!!!!!!! speaking of the next show, does anyone know what its gonna be???????

actually i kinda figured you guys would vote for musicals when i first made this poll cause you dont have to be a rocket scientists to figure out that if you make a poll about which play is better in a musical theatre group then chances are that they will vote for musicals


but thats just my opinion...but ive been wrong before
