Oklahoma Casting Director and actor Chris Freihofer will offer his very popular one-day workshop "AUDITION FOR CAMERA" in Norman, OK on Sunday, November 20, from 1:00-5:00 pm. It will be the first time Freihofer has taught the class since becoming a full-time Casting Director, and the first time he has offered the class in 2005. The class is open to Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced actors alike. Everyone will learn and improve, according to Freihofer. This highly-participatory workshop covers the basics in auditioning for film, television and commercials. It details the subtle art of 'slating' for camera, and goes into detail dealing with the three basic audition scenarios: Reading from a board, Reading with a reader, and the MOS audition. He will also explain his new Top 10 Mistakes Made in the Audition Room.

Each particpant will go through mock audition scenarios with actual commercial and film scripts. After given a brief time to prepare, they will be videotaped, and then critiqued afterwards in a fun, positive environment.

"It gives a chance for people to see what mistakes they make on camera. Some actors audition for years without ever seeing what they actually do in the audition room. This is a great chance for even advanced actors to see what common mistakes they may be making," Freihofer said.

"I will be very honest. But I also understand it is often someone's first time to act in front of a camera. Everyone will come in at different levels of experience, but EVERYONE will learn, and EVERYONE will improve their audition technique," he said. Each pariticpant will also receive a VHS tape of their work in the day's class, for further evaluation at home.

*Entry into this workshop is only allowed for individuals aged 12-15 that have met prior screening requirements. A qualified teen is someone in this age group that has previously received outside professional training in acting classes other than those offered by their school.

This comprehensive lecture covers everything you need to know to get started as a working actor in Oklahoma and beyond. Learn what headshots should look like--who takes them and who prints them; what a resume should look like-- including what should and SHOULD NOT be mentioned. Learn the job opportunities available in this market and markets close by. Find out who the talent agents are and learn the local casting directors. Learn how it works."

Learn common mistakes made while interviewing for an agent as well as warning signs to look for, how to get representation outside of Oklahoma, and learn his new Top 10 Mistakes Made in the Audition Room.

But most importantly, Freihofer stressed, this workshop covers how both beginning and advanced actors alike need to market themselves to get ahead of the competition. It also gives tips on how to get to the top of their agent's call list and what every actor should do on a daily and weekly basis. Finally, it covers the scams that some agents and would-be talent scouts perpetrate on hopefuls. Learn how not to be taken by the clever promises.
