I love em! Are we going to build these on the Saturday that we have for a work day??? Also did Mickster say anything about buillding those stairs yet???? I tried to get him to get on and look at my poll about him but I don't think it worked.....are we going to be able to get these done on that Saturday??? Will we pick another day???? I also like the Hoffman Hotel one! 8) :horse: :ninja: :violin:

I have a set of stairs but they are narrow, only wide enough for 1 person. What would be the dimensions for these stairs? How far up would they have to go?
Cutting a template for the risers is relatively easy. How fancy would we want the spindles and handrails?
These are a few of the questions that have to be answered before "stair construction" can begin...

I really wanted to do wide enough for one person or so, just because we have to store this backstage the rest of the time, so that sounds great. I'm not sure how fancy the spindles and things need to be but we can look at some different styles and pick something out.

The best part about the stairs is that we can set it up during intermission and leave it up until the end of the show. Every other scene takes place in front of the black curtain, and the kids can bow in with the stairs in place.

Any type of stairs that support more than 1 person is going to be HEAVY!!! We'll figure something out though...

You have a staircase??? That's kinda weird....but I'm glad you have it! I'm kinda scared about getting onto 'em.....These set drawings are great aren't they! This is going to be a hard show to do! Thanks for helping out!!!!! 8)

Sets

Postby Regina on Mon Oct 17, 2005 3:41 pm

Okay, so I guess we need to get on the ball and have a set day. Since our last illustrious tenants left paint all over the bedroom floor in the apartment anyway, it'll be a good place for set work. Plus, it's air conditioned... :woohoo:

Anyway, can we get a volunteer to go up the opera house and get dimensions of the stage so we can figure out what we need to do or something? (I'm only assuming this is the first step. My range of expertise was to draw those rough sketches. I really have no idea what to do from here and fully expect someone else to take over the reins!)

That's all I've got to say about that.
